As an OAJ member, you will have the help and advice of the shop steward with questions concerning your work or the terms of your employment relationship.
The shop steward is usually the first link between you and the union. Problems are often resolved locally with the shop steward.
The shop steward advises members on the following matters, among others:
- working time
- salaries
- leave of absence
- fixed-term employment
- warnings, terminations of employment and temporary layoffs.
The shop steward represents both JUKO and OAJ and also employees belonging to OAJ at the workplaces of the municipality and joint municipal authorities as well as at universities.
At private workplaces, the shop steward represents OAJ and its employees.
